I received an ad on Twitter for a mattress sale today, and it was hashtagged #thankyou #remember, because nothing says “Thank you for sacrificing your life for our freedom” like a new mattress.
Now I realize this is a long-standing joke, that mattress and furniture sales are always spotlighted during military-ish holidays, I just find it a little weird.
Oh well, I do need some new pillows, so maybe I should be thankful for those that died for our freedom, our freedom to buy a new mattress, or pillows, whenever we want.
